Let's Go On To Maturity

For many years I have been speaking and writing about the need for maturity in followers of Jesus. Eventually, if we don't have enough mature followers of Jesus in America, Satan and his demonic and human forces will steal, kill and destroy America and our Christian freedom. This also applies to all other nations!

I have indicated that at present the majority of ministers are not equipping the saints in a way that helps them go on to perfection (maturity) (Hebrews 6:1) For example, the last two Sunday mornings on television I have watched an internationally known minister from Atlanta. The messages were well prepared and the Bible was used, but his messages are geared for the main part to things that new born Christians should be taught. His listeners cannot go on to maturity from what he is ministering. While writing this I am listening to an internationally known woman minister. She too is not ministering what will lead her listeners to maturity.

Late last night, just prior to midnight, I read something that Andrew Murray wrote over one hundred years ago. He had the same concerns that I have about what Christians are and are not being taught.

"Many Christians remain carnal. God has not only called us to grow, but He has provided all the conditions and powers necessary for growth. Yet, it is sadly true that there are many Christians who, like the Corinthians, remain babes in Christ when they ought to be going on to perfection. In some cases, the blame is almost more with the Church and its teaching than with the individuals themselves. When preaching emphasizes the pardon and peace of salvation, or when the truth of the Holy Spirit's indwelling is not taught clearly, growth can hardly be expected. The causes of evil are ignorance of God's power and defective human views of the gospel of salvation." Andrew Murray
